DESCRIPTION:The School on Scientific Visualization is an intense\, 5 day\,
graduate level course. It aims at introducing the participants to key subj
ects and tools on scientific visualization with special focus on High Perf
ormance Computing platforms and remote visualization by means of lectures
and extended hands-on tutorial.Topics\nIntroduction to scientific and remo
te visualization concepts\;\nHigh-performance visualization tools and libr
aries\;\nReal-life case history and practical applications.\n Target audi
ence\nThe school is aimed at final year master students\, PhD students\, a
nd young researchers in computational sciences and scientific areas with d
 ifferent backgrounds.

The number of partecipants is limited to 20 stu
dents. Applicants will be selected according to their experience and quali
fications. Basic knowledge of computer graphics is required. Use the "Reas
on for participation" field to let us know your background.Pre-requisites\
nKnowledge of  computer programming is required (languages C++/Python)Ben
efits\nThe main expected benefits for the course attendant are:\n\n enlar
ge their knowledge on state of art in scientific visualization\;\n	\n app
ly best practices on state-of-the-art software deployment\;\n	\n experien
ce technical tips-and-tricks throughout the different phases of the tutori
al sessions\;\n	\n learn from case history and practical applications\n\n
Attendance is free. Some grants\, up to 500 EUR\, are available for part
icipants not funded by their Institution and not coming from the area of t
he course location. Lunch will be provided by CINECA. Each student will be
given a two month access to the CINECA's supercomputing resources.Program
