DESCRIPTION:**BioData.pt | ELIXIR-PT is setting a national microbiome commu
nity to align with ELIXIR's mission.**\n\n## About this Event\n\nMicrobiom
e research has grown substantially and produced massive data over the past
decade in terms of the range of biomes sampled\, facing challenges in ter
ms of data findability\, accessibility\, interoperability and reuse. \n\n
**ELIXIR**\, the** European Infrastructure for Biological Data**\, is add
ressing these topics via domain-specific communities\, namely via its **M
icrobiome Community**. \n\n**BioData.pt**\, as the Portuguese Node of **
ELIXIR**\,** **is assembling its National Community to engage Portuguese
researchers on this topic in this European effort. \n\nThe Portuguese **
Microbiome Community**\, led by Isabel Gordo\, from Instituto Gulbenkian d
e Ciência\, is organizing its first National Summit to raise awareness an
d gather scientists addressing microbiome research in Portugal.\n\nIf you
are one of these\, join us in the Summit and in this new community.\n\n##
 Important Dates\n\n[Abstract submission](https://www.eventbrite.pt/e/1st-m
 icrobiome-pt-summit-registration-128866123043) (posters): 5th January \n
 \nNote: Posters will be presented through a pre-recorded 2-minutes video o
n the respective sessions. Abstract submission is made through the general
  registration form.\n\n[Registration](https://www.eventbrite.pt/e/1st-micr
