DESCRIPTION:Educators:\nMichael Turewicz (bioinformatician) and Karin Schor
 k (biostatistician) (BioInfra.Prot)\n\nDate:\nMonday\, 9th Nov 2020\n\nLoc
ation:\nOnline\n\nContents:\nIn this course you will learn about using R f
or the analysis of proteomics data. We will focus on data preprocessing me
thods and advanced methods for data analysis. In this regard the cpurse wi
 ll touch upon:\n • data normalization\n • quality control\, hand
 ling of missing values\n • clustering\, heatmaps\n • ROC-curves\
n\nPlease be aware that basic knowledge of R and methods for differential
analysis of proteomics data are taught in our course “Differential analy
sis of quantitative proteomics data” the previous day (Monday\, 2nd Nov
 2020\, http://goo.gl/forms/mpKHnbT1Um)\n\nLearning goals:\n • Indepen
 dent usage of R functions for\n - Data preprocessing\n - Plo
ts and graphs\n - Statistical methods for data analysis\n -
Use of additional R packages\n • Deeper understanding of statistical
methods applied in differential analyses\n\nPrerequisites:\n • Basic
understanding of high-dimensional data sets from quantitative proteomics o
 r other life sciences\;\n • Basic knowledge of R (e.g. data import\,
basic plots\, t-test\, for loop) and basic knowledge of differential analy
sis of proteomics data. Both can for example be gained from our course “
Differential analysis of quantitative proteomics data” the previous day
 (Monday\, 2nd Nov 2020\, http://goo.gl/forms/mpKHnbT1Um).\n • Compute
 r with stable internet connection\, headset and camera\n\nKeywords:\nR\; h
 igh-throughput data\; omics\; proteomics\; data analysis\, graphics\, data
