DESCRIPTION:Educators:\nMichael Turewicz (bioinformatician) and Karin Schor
 k (biostatistician) (BioInfra.Prot)\n\nDate:\nMonday\, 2nd Nov 2020\n\nLoc
ation:\nOnline\n\nContents:\nThis course will impart knowledge about how t
o conduct a differential analysis of high-throughput quantitative proteomi
cs data using R. As we start with a basic introduction to the popular stat
istical programming language\, no prior knowledge on R is required.\nThe s
tatistical background on utilized methods is explained in order to enable
the participants to assess their own as well as published workflows critic
ally. In this regard the course will touch upon\n • statistical infer
 ence: hypotheses\, type I and II error\n • location tests (t-test)\n
    • multiple testing\n\nLearning goals:\n • Independent usage of b
 asic R functions including\n - data import and export\n -
 basic plots\n - statistical tests\n • Deeper understanding of
statistical methods applied in differential analyses\n\nPrerequisites:\n
    • Basic understanding of high-dimensional data sets from quantitative
proteomics or other life sciences\;\n • No prior knowledge on R requ
ired\n • Computer with stable internet connection\, headset and camer
 a\n\nKeywords:\nR\; high-throughput data\; omics\; proteomics\; differenti
al analysis\n\nTools:\ndownload and more information on R here:\nhttps://c
ran.r-project.org/\n\nWe recommend using an editor such as RStudio\, see\n
