DESCRIPTION:Educators:\nKarin Schork and Robin Grugel (BioInfra.Prot)\n\nDa
 te:\n16th Sep + 17th Sep 2025\, 9:00 am – 01:00 pm\, UTC+2\n\nLocation:\
nOnline\n\nContents:\nThis course will provide comprehensive training on c
onducting differential analysis of high-throughput quantitative proteomics
data using R. Starting with an introduction to the widely-used statistica
l programming language\, no prior experience with R is necessary.\nPartici
pants will gain an understanding of the statistical concepts behind the me
thods used\, enabling them to critically evaluate both their own workflows
and those found in published studies. Key topics covered will include:\n
 • Statistical inference: hypotheses and Type I and II errors\n•
       t-test and ANOVA\n• Multiple testing adjustments\n•
Volcano plot\n\nLearning goals:\n• Learning about basic R function
 s including\n - data import and export\n - sta
 tistical tests\n - basic visualization\n• Deeper und
erstanding of statistical methods applied in differential analyses\n\nPrer
equisites: \n• Basic understanding of high-dimensional data sets
from quantitative proteomics or other omics\n• No prior knowledge
on R required\n• Computer with stable internet connection\, head
 set and camera\n\nKeywords:\nR\; high-throughput data\; omics\; proteomics
\; statistical analysis\n\nTools:\nDownload and more information on R here
:\nhttps://cran.r-project.org/\n\nWe recommend using an editor such as RSt
 udio\, see\nhttps://posit.co/products/open-source/rstudio/\nR/RStudio need
to be installed before the start of the course.
