DESCRIPTION:[Rfam](https://rfam.org) is a database of RNA families that cu
rrently contains almost 4\,000 families. Together with the Infernal softwa
re\, Rfam is commonly used to annotate non-coding RNAs in newly sequenced
genomes. In this webinar\, we will give an overview of the data available
in Rfam and give a live demo of annotating a genome with non-coding RNAs u
sing Rfam and the Infernal software. \n \n We will be joined by a guest
speaker\, Prof Sam Griffiths-Jones (University of Manchester)\, who founde
d Rfam in 2002 and is now responsible for miRBase\, the microRNA registry.
We will discuss the ongoing efforts to synchronise the microRNA families
 between Rfam and miRBase.
