DESCRIPTION:UniProt provides the scientific community with a comprehensive\
, high-quality and freely accessible resource of protein sequence and func
tional information. \n \nThis webinar will guide you through ways in whi
ch students and researchers at all career stages may take a structured app
roach to access the data in the UniProtKB and Proteomes sections of the Un
iProt protein function database. We will discuss the types of protein data
that can be accessed\, how to navigate the UniProt website\, and where Un
iProt’s data comes from. \n\nWe will demonstrate: \n\n- Intuitively se
arch the UniProt website\n- How to find the function of a protein \n- Ide
ntify the protein components of a pathway\n- Compare proteins features of
interest\n- Determine protein orthologs in other species\n- Obtain data se
ts containing all the proteins expressed in an organism. \n\nBy accessing
protein sequence\, structure and functional data through UniProt\, resear
chers can discover new protein data\, expand their biological knowledge of
target protein families and pathways\, and ultimately drive further scien
tific discoveries. \n \nThis event is part of the broader ["UniProt 2026
 -2027"](https://www.ebi.ac.uk/training/events/uniprot-2026-2027/) series.
You can follow the link for more information about the series and its webi
