DESCRIPTION:Description\n\nThis course covers the modern features of the Fo
 rtran programming language. Topics include object-oriented features\, lang
 uage interoperability and several other enhancements available at the Fort
 ran 2008 standard. In addition\, a way to express distributed memory paral
 lelism via Fortran coarrays will be discussed in detail.\n\nLearning outco
 me\n\nThe course provides an overview on all the relevant features of Fort
 ran beyond the 95 standard. You also will be able to write parallel progra
 ms using the Fortran coarrays concept. \n\nPrerequisites\n\nSolid knowledg
 e of Fortran 95/2003. The concepts discussed in the PATC introduction cour
 se Fortran Programming for Scientific Computing is the minimum. Knowledge 
 of C will also be needed for understanding topics on language interoperabi
 lity. Some familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts will be a
 ssumed. Some knowledge of parallel programming with message-passing inter
 face (MPI) will be assumed when discussing the coarrays concept. \n\nAgend
