DESCRIPTION:Understanding data management in a research environment is beco
ming increasingly important as national and European infrastructures promo
te ERA-wide Open Science policies. At present EU funding agencies require
researchers to provide a Data Management Plan\; a requirement that is like
ly to be standard at the national level in the near future. So what are th
e responsibilities of publicly-funded researchers with respect to scientif
ic data?\n\nThis course will introduce (meta) data types\, how they are ma
naged in an Open Science research environment\, and how to comply with FAI
R data principles. The course will also discuss what computational resourc
es and expertise are available to researchers.\n\nPresented and sponsored
by BioData.pt/ELIXIR.pt - the Portuguese National Bioinformatics Infrastru
cture - and the Ready for BioData Management Programme.
