DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 2-day workshop focused on hands-on training on ut
 ilising web-based data-mining resources for arthropods: [**Ensembl Metaz
 oa**](https://metazoa.ensembl.org/index.html) and [**VectorBase**](https:
 //vectorbase.org/vectorbase/app)\, to analyse both public and private dat
 asets. \n\nOmics data technologies allow scientists to analyse the genome
 s\, transcriptomes\, proteomes\, and genetic variability of arthropods. Th
 ese analyses enable the exploration of diverse research inquiries such as 
 host-pathogen interactions\, insecticide resistance\, diversity\, and many
  other aspects of behaviour\, biology\, and ecology. \n\nIn this workshop
  participants will learn to formulate testable hypotheses\, leveraging the
  power of these omics technologies. To promote the accessibility and reuse
  of different data types\, numerous web-based bioinformatics resources hav
 e been created. Notably\, **Ensembl** and **VectorBase** stand out among a
  select group of essential resources for global research\, known as the **
 Global Core Biodata Resources (**[**GCBRs**](https://globalbiodata.org/wha
 t-we-do/global-core-biodata-resources/list-of-current-global-core-biodata-
 resources/)**)** and the **Elixir Core Data Resources (**[**CDRs**](https:
 //elixir-europe.org/platforms/data/core-data-resources)**)**\, comprising 
 only 31 and 37 members respectively.\n\nAs VectorBase is part of [**VEuPat
 hDB**](https://veupathdb.org/veupathdb/app)\, insights gained can be exten
 ded to its other component sites encompassing [parasites\, fungi\, and ver
 tebrate](https://veupathdb.org/veupathdb/app/static-content/about.html)s.

 me type of tools and resources as [**Ensembl's sister sites**](https://ens
