DESCRIPTION:This webinar presents several applications of artificial intell
igence\, with a particular focus on machine learning techniques applied to
the study of cancer\, COVID-19 and other biomedical conditions. These eff
orts stem from research projects conducted in Argentina and through intern
ational collaborations. We will illustrate analyses of gene expression pro
files across different cancer types using clustering algorithms\, as well
as the identification of potential markers and relevant determinants throu
gh classification models. In the latter case\, predictive models are train
ed and evaluated to assess their ability to anticipate various states or f
eatures associated with these conditions.\n\nThis webinar is part of the [
“Applications of artificial intelligence for biosciences in Latin Americ
 a”](https://www.ebi.ac.uk/training/events/applications-artificial-intell
igence-biosciences-latin-america/) webinar series\, organised as part of t
 he [BiotrAIn project](https://www.ebi.ac.uk/training/our-partnerships/bio
train)\, a collaboration between [University of Costa Rica](https://www.u
 cr.ac.cr/)\,  [CABANAnet](https://cabana.network/) and EMBL-EBI\, funded
by the Chan Zuckerberg initiative.    \n \nThis webinar is delivered in
English. Synchronised captions are provided in both English and Spanish.
The Spanish translation has been automatically generated and is currently
