DESCRIPTION:Genomic medicine is the practice of utilizing multi-omic (genom
 ic\, transcriptomic\, epigenomic) data to improve the diagnosis and treatm
 ent of patients. The CBW has developed a 2-day course that will explore va
 rious aspects of genomic medicine\, covering and teaching popular tools an
 d methods in the field. The course will start with topics that are importa
 nt to the analysis of genetic disorders\, including phenotyping and the an
 notation of genetic variants. Next\, we will cover multi-omic approaches t
 hat can be used to identify homogenous clusters of patients\, build patien
 t trajectories to identify likely outcomes\, and improve these outcomes th
 rough better selection of therapies.\n\nParticipants will gain practical e
 xperience and skills to be able to:\n\nIdentify disease variants:\nConduct
  basic exome analysis to identify disease-causing mutations\nPerform deep 
 phenotyping of patients using the Human Phenotype Ontology (HPO)\nConduct 
 detailed variant annotation and prioritization\nPerform patient classifica
 tion:\nUnderstand and select appropriate epigenomic datasets for patient c
 lassification\nConduct data fusion to identify homogenous patient subgroup
 s\nIdentify potential therapies based on molecular profiles
