DESCRIPTION:This workshop will introduce students to EMBL-EBI\, the databas
 es and services it offers\, and basic concepts in bioinformatics that will
  be of use to their disease related research work. \n\nIt will explain the
  role of the EBI in curating and sharing biological data with scientists a
 round the world and introduce basics for locating relevant data and inform
 ation of interest. \n\nSessions with trainers from [Ensembl](http://www.en
 sembl.org/)\, [ArrayExpress](https://www.ebi.ac.uk/arrayexpress/) and the 
 [GWAS catalog](https://www.ebi.ac.uk/gwas/) will introduce practical skill
 s in browsing genes and variation in a genomic context\, in exploring SNP-
 trait associations and will show how further understanding can be gained o
