DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE The Bioinformatics Team are presently teaching as m
any courses live online. We aim to simulate the classroom experience as cl
osely as possible\, with opportunities for one-to-one discussion with tuto
rs and a focus on interactivity throughout.\n\n[InterMine](http://intermin
e.org/) is a freely available open-source data warehouse built specificall
y for the integration and analysis of complex biological data sets.\n\nInt
erMine-based data analysis platforms are available for many organisms incl
 uding mouse\, rat\, budding yeast\, plants (over 87 plant genomes)\, nemat
 odes\, fly\, zebrafish\, Hymenoptera\, Planaria\, and more recently human.
\n\nGenomic and proteomic data within InterMine databases includes pathwa
 ys\, gene expression\, interactions\, sequence variants\, GWAS\, regulator
y data and protein expression.\nInterMine provides sophisticated query and
visualisation tools both through a web interface and a powerful web servi
ce API\, with multiple language bindings including Python and R. \n\nThis
course will focus on programmatic access to InterMine through the API and
InterMine searches will be done using Python and R scripts. The exercises
will mainly use the fly\, human and mouse databases\, but the course is a
pplicable to anyone working with data for which an InterMine database is a
vailable (a comprehensive list of InterMine databases is available [here](
http://registry.intermine.org/).\n\nThis event is organised alongside a ha
lf day course on Biological data analysis using the InterMine User Interfa
ce. More information on this event are available [ https://training.csx.ca
 m.ac.uk/bioinformatics/course/bioinfo-intermine here].\n\nPlease note that
if you are not eligible for a University of Cambridge [Raven](http://www.
ucs.cam.ac.uk/docs/faq/raven/n5) account you will need to Book or register
