DESCRIPTION:C++ is a modern\, object-oriented programming language that is 
 used tobuild industry strength applications when performance and reliabili
 ty are important.The language has a reputation of being challenging to use
 \, but forscientific programming\, a core set of features is sufficient fo
 r most programming tasks.  In this training\, we will concentrate on thatf
 eature set.  Although the scope is scientific programming\, most of the ma
 terial presented in Bjarne Stroustrup's excellent "A tour of C++" is cover
 ed\, as well as some addition introduced in the C++14 specification.The ST
 L (Standard Template Library) will be covered in some detail since selecti
 ng the appropriate data structures and algorithms is one of themost import
 ant design decisions. We will see that C++ code can be compact\, straightf
 orward\, elegant and fun to write\, and is a very useful programming langu
 age for more demanding applications.Hands-on and programming challenges wi
 ll be provided.\n\n\n
