DESCRIPTION:This introductory workshop will provide hands-on training on pr
 otein and structural bioinformatics resources in the context of molecular 
 dynamics\, biomolecular modelling\, and simulations. The workshop is spons
 ored by the Collaborative Computational Project for Biomolecular Simulatio
 n ([CCPBioSim](https://www.ccpbiosim.ac.uk/)).\n\nParticipants will gain k
 nowledge and skills for searching\, selecting\, and assessing publicly ava
 ilable protein biodata for use in downstream methods relating to biomolecu
 lar modelling and molecular dynamics simulations. The workshop will begin 
 with an introduction to basic concepts in genomics and associated resource
 s\, then to protein resources\, their uses and limitations\, and validatio
 n of both experimentally and predicted protein structures. \n\nFinally\, 
 the workshop will cover variant effect prediction and offer participants h
 ands-on group projects to bring together the previous days’ training wit
 h highly-experienced mentors. During this time\, participants will work wi
 th simulated datasets to answer small research questions\, then present fi
 ndings thereafter. Participants will also get the chance to network with o
 ne another\, trainers\, and workshop organisers.
