DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE The Bioinformatics Team are presently teaching many
courses live online\, with tutors available to help you work through the
course material on a personal copy of the course environment. We continue
to monitor advice from the UK government and the University of Cambridge o
n resuming in-person teaching back in the training room.\n\nComplex natura
l systems permeate many aspects of everyday life—including human intelli
 gence\, social media\, biomedicine\, agriculture\, economics\, even our pe
rsonal and professional relationships. The past decade has seen intensific
ation of research into structural and dynamical properties of complex netw
orks. This course will introduce the basic principles of network theory\,
and hands-on DIY Network analysis using Cytoscape\, one of the most widely
used global platforms for construction and analysis of biomolecular netwo
rks such as gene regulatory interactions\, protein complexes\, hydrogen-bo
nding meshwork in active sites and neuronal networks. The aim is to concep
tualize your own textual\, tabular or genomic datasets as networks\, and t
o understand how simple topological features can help to decipher complex
properties of systems and processes.\n\nPlease note that if you are not el
igible for a University of Cambridge [Raven](http://www.ucs.cam.ac.uk/docs
/faq/raven/n5) account you will need to book or register your interest by
