DESCRIPTION:Learn how to squeeze the most out of a Cray supercomputer! This
three day workshop will give attendees the knowledge required to understa
nd the most optimal way to port\, optimize and execute applications on Cra
y XC40 systems\, such as CSC's "Sisu". The workshop is a mixture of lectur
es and practical hands-on sessions. Some example exercises will be provide
d\, but attendees are encouraged to bring along their own applications to
the workshop. Although the workshop specifically targets the Cray architec
ture and programming environment\, many of the topics covered are generall
y useful also on other architectures.\nThe course consists of a detailed i
ntroduction to the following topics:\n• Cray XC system and its use (modu
le system\, storage\, batch job system\, etc.)\n• Compiling and porting
codes to the Cray XC\n• Profiling and optimizing parallel codes\n• Pro
gram development tools and libraries on Sisu\nRoughly half of the course w
ill be devoted to hands-on work on participants' own codes.\nIt is highly
 recommended to bring your own laptop.AgendaTuesday 4 November\, 2014\n\n
