DESCRIPTION:The ELIXIR-PT/BioData.pt infrastructure and the Instituto Gulbe
 nkian de Ciência (IGC) are proud to announce that a Data Carpentry Worksh
 op\, with a special focus on Genomics data\, will be held at the IGC on Oc
 tober 15th and 16th 2018. For those unfamiliar with the concept\, Data Car
 pentry aims at systematically delivering workshops on the fundamental data
  skills needed to conduct research. What you will learn will largely influ
 ence the way in which you handle data in a fully independent way\, free fr
 om proprietary software and storage platforms. The workshop will be run by
  Mateusz Kusak and Paula Andrea Martinez\, both highly qualified instructo
 rs of the Carpentries (https://carpentries.org/). The content will be the 
 Genomics Curriculum https://datacarpentry.org/lessons/#genomics-workshop. 
 Attendance will be granted for FREE to up to 30 participants that need to 
 apply before October 5th at 12h00 using the Eventbrite page that will be p
