 tific fields due to its relevance in modern scientific research and data a
 nalysis. Linux is an open-source operating system that offers powerful too
 ls and flexibility\, which can greatly enhance various aspects of microbio
 logy research and equips microbiologists with the technical foundation nee
 ded to harness the capabilities of this operating system for enhanced data
  analysis\, customization\, collaboration and security in their research e
 ndeavors.\n\nLearning Goals:\nThe goal of this one-day workshop is to prov
 ide participants with a brief introduction to the Linux command line inter
 face (shell) and the basic skills needed to process Next Generation Sequen
 ce (NGS) data from microbial communities as well as to perform analyses. T
 he format will comprise a mixture of lectures and hands-on tutorials where
  students will process example data sets in in the de.NBI cloud environmen
