DESCRIPTION:In this tutorial we present an asynchronous data flow programmi
ng model for Partitioned Global Address Spaces (PGAS) as an alternative to
the programming model of MPI.\nGASPI\, which stands for Global Address Sp
ace Programming Interface\, is a partitioned global address space (PGAS) A
PI. The GASPI API is designed as a C/C++/Fortran library and focused on th
ree key objectives: scalability\, flexibility and fault tolerance. In orde
r to achieve its much improved scaling behaviour GASPI aims at asynchronou
s dataflow with remote completion\, rather than bulk-synchronous message e
xchanges. GASPI follows a single/multiple program multiple data (SPMD/MPMD
) approach and offers a small\, yet powerful API (see also http://www.gasp
i.de and http://www.gpi-site.com).\nGASPI is successfully used in academic
and industrial simulation applications.\nHands-on sessions (in C and Fort
ran) will allow users to immediately test and understand the basic constru
cts of GASPI.\nThis course provides scientific training in Computational S
cience\, and in addition\, the scientific exchange of the participants amo
 ng themselves.\n\nhttps://events.prace-ri.eu/event/495/
