DESCRIPTION:# Overview\n\nThis course introduces trainers in the life scien
 ces to learning principles\, training techniques\, lesson\, session\, cour
 se\, and material design as well as assessment and feedback. It offers gui
 dance\, ideas and tips for designing training/teaching\, development and d
 elivery on training activities\, all based on research-driven educational 
 principles. Examples and discussions will also focus on the challenges pre
 sented by academic teaching.\n\nThis course has been developed for and by 
 trainers in bioinformatics but is suitable for all trainers and educators 
 in higher education. It is part of the [ELIXIR-GOBLET Train-the-Trainer pr
 ogramme](https://elixir-europe.org/platforms/training/train-the-trainer).\
 n\nThe course will run from 27 to 30 April in the mornings\, and is organi
 sed by ELIXIR-Switzerland and ELIXIR-Israel.\n\n# Audience\nThis course is
  addressed to scientists:\n* with some to little or no teaching experience
 \,\n* who want to become a teacher or a better one\, and\n* who believe te
 aching is - or may become - a relevant aspect of their professional develo
 pment. \n\n# Learning objectives\nAt the end of the course\, the participa
 nts are expected to:\n\n* tell which learning principles a good trainer sh
 ould have in mind\n* describe at least three training techniques drawing o
 n learning principles\n* design a training session and a course\n* develop
  assessment questionnaires\n* tell what types of material are needed for e
 ach part of a training session\n\n# Prerequisites\n##### Knowledge / compe
 tencies\nThis course is designed for scientists with some to little or no 
 teaching experience.\n##### Technical\nIt's an online course\, but it's al
 l based on human interactions. You will basically need a computer for a br
 owser and to participate in the Zoom meeting. \n\n\n# Application\nThis co
 urse is free of charges. It is partially sponsored by [ELIXIR](https://eli
