 ers in the life sciences to learning principles\, training techniques\, le
 sson\, session\, course\, and material design as well as assessment and fe
 edback. It offers guidance\, ideas and tips for designing training/teachin
 g\, development and delivery on training activities\, all based on researc
 h-driven educational principles. Examples and discussions will also focus 
 on the challenges presented by academic teaching.\n\nThis course has been 
 developed for and by trainers in bioinformatics but is suitable for all tr
 ainers and educators in higher education. It is part of the [ELIXIR-GOBLET
  Train-the-Trainer programme](https://elixir-europe.org/platforms/training
 /train-the-trainer).\n\nThe course will run from 14 to 17 January in the a
 fternoons\, and is organize by ELIXIR-Switzerland.\n\n# Audience\nThis cou
 rse is addressed to scientists:\n* with some to little or no teaching expe
 rience\,\n* who want to become a teacher or a better one\, and\n* who beli
 eve teaching is - or may become - a relevant aspect of their professional 
 development. \n\n# Learning objectives\nAt the end of the course\, the par
 ticipants are expected to:\n\n* tell which learning principles a good trai
 ner should have in mind\n* describe at least three training techniques dra
 wing on learning principles\n* design a training session and a course\n* d
 evelop assessment questionnaires\n* tell what types of material are needed
  for each part of a training session\n\n# Prerequisites\n##### Knowledge /
  competencies\nThis course is designed for scientists with some to little 
 or no teaching experience.\n##### Technical\nYou don't need to bring a com
 puter. It's all based on human interactions.\n\n# Application\nThis course
  is free of charges. It is partially sponsored by [ELIXIR](https://elixir-
