DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Innovation and SME Forum on 10-11 October with a focus
on “distributed data analysis - the (health) data train” in Utrecht is
open to researchers working in the data driven life-science sector\, larg
e and small companies that develop services for data management and sharin
g\, as well as people involved in national healthcare initiatives and anyo
ne else who is interested in learning more about data-driven innovation in
the life-science sector.\n\nThe concept of distributed data analysis as c
ontained in the FAIR Data Train approach has been endorsed by the Dutch go
vernment in a letter to the Dutch Parliament in December 2018. Meanwhile\,
the Dutch Government is preparing to implement this novel strategy in the
Dutch health care information system. This signals the emerging market fo
r FAIR-based distributed analysis approaches beyond the science domain. Th
e ELIXIR-NL public-private network is closely involved in specification an
d implementation.     \n\nThis event contains a mix of high-level key
note speakers and interactive sessions to discuss and interact with other
companies and ELIXIR partners. A specific session with Flash Talks\, will
give SMEs and Start-Ups the chance to introduce their work to a broad audi
ence.\n\nThis event is a collaborative effort\, organised by ELIXIR Nether
lands (DTL) in collaboration with several DTL SME partners.\n\nMore genera
lly\, the event aims to inform about ELIXIR resources and create a space t
o network for industry and academia.\n\n \n\nWhat people think about prev
ious events:\n\n"The ELIXIR Innovation and SME Forum was a great opportuni
ty for us to interact with ELIXIR and also other SME organisations to shar
e ideas and better understand how ELIXIR together with small and large com
panies can help bridging the "digital islands" of information and provide
true value for life science stakeholders\, researchers and in the ned\, th
 e patients." - Henrik Plym-Forshell\, BC Platforms\, Sweden  \n
