DESCRIPTION:This workshop will introduce students to [EMBL-EBI](http://www.
 ebi.ac.uk/)\, the databases and services it offers\, and basic concepts in
  bioinformatics that will be of use to their disease related research work
 . \n\nIt will explain the role of the EMBL-EBI in curating and sharing bio
 logical data with scientists around the world\, and introduce concepts for
  locating relevant data and information of interest. \n\nSessions with tra
 iners from [Ensembl](http://www.ensembl.org/)\, [ArrayExpress](https://www
 .ebi.ac.uk/arrayexpress/) and the [GWAS catalog](https://www.ebi.ac.uk/gwa
 s/) will introduce practical skills in browsing genes and variation in a g
 enomic context\, in exploring SNP-trait associations and will show how fur
 ther understanding can be gained on the location and level of gene express
