DESCRIPTION:This full-day\, hands-on workshop will introduce you to the key
steps involved in analysing and visualising Bulk RNA-seq data. You will l
 earn how RNA-seq data are generated\, processed and interpreted\, with a p
articular focus on preparing data for downstream analysis and identifying
differentially expressed genes. \n\nBy the end of the course\, you will ha
ve a clearer understanding of what Bulk RNA-seq can tell you\, how raw seq
uencing data are transformed into interpretable results\, and how to carry
out core analysis steps in R. The workshop is designed to combine explana
tion with practical exercises\, giving you the opportunity to work through
  an RNA-seq analysis workflow in a focused\, supportive\, in-person enviro
nment. \n\nThis course is for you if: \n\nYou already have basic knowledg
e of R programming language \nYou work in a biomedical field \nYou need to
start using RNA-seq data \nYou want to gain a better understanding of wha
t information you can obtain from RNA-seq data \nYou would like to learn h
ow to carry out differential expression analysis for bulk data \nYou work
best in a focused\, in-person environment with live instructor support\nLe
arning objectives: \n\nDescribe the main steps in a bulk RNA-seq analysis
workflow \nUnderstand how RNA-seq data are processed before downstream ana
lysis \nExplain how differentially expressed genes are identified \nPerfor
 m a basic differential expression analysis in R \nRead RNA-seq output file
s into R and work with gene-level data \nAnnotate and interpret features i
n an RNA-seq dataset \nCreate basic visualisations to explore and communic
ate RNA-seq results \nTechnology required: To participate in the course\,
you will need to be able to use RStudio on your computer or log into RStud
io Cloud so you can work interactively in class. \n\nPrerequisites: Worki
ng knowledge of the R programming language\, knowledge of NGS sequencing a
nd pre-processing such as from our online course. \n\nPrice: £100
