DESCRIPTION:Annotation\n\nThe CUDA computing platform enables the accelerat
ion of CPU-only applications to run on the world’s fastest massively par
allel GPUs. You experience C/C++ application acceleration by:\n\n\n	Accele
rating CPU-only applications to run their latent parallelism on GPUs\n	Uti
lizing essential CUDA memory management techniques to optimize accelerated
applications\n	Exposing accelerated application potential for concurrency
and exploiting it with CUDA streams\n	Leveraging command line and visual
profiling to guide and check your work.\n\n\nThis training is a part of NV
IDIA AI &amp\; HPC ACADEMY 2020.\n\nThe lectures are interleaved with many
hands-on sessions using Jupyter Notebooks. The exercises will be done on
a fully configured GPU-accelerated workstation in the cloud.\n\nThe worksh
op is co-organized by LRZ\, IT4Innovations and NVIDIA Deep Learning Instit
ute (DLI) for the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE). Bo
th IT4Innovations and LRZ\, as part of GCS\, are PRACE Training Centres\,
serve as European hubs and key drivers of advanced high-quality training f
or researchers working in the computational sciences.\n\nNVIDIA DLI offers
hands-on training for developers\, data scientists\, and researchers look
ing to solve challenging problems with deep learning.\n\nAll instructors a
 re NVIDIA certified University Ambassadors.\n\nLevel\n\nBeginner\n\nLangua
ge\n\nEnglish\n\nPurpose of the course\n\nUpon completion\, you will be ab
le to accelerate and optimize existing C/C++ CPU-only applications using t
he most essential CUDA tools and techniques. You will understand an iterat
ive style of CUDA development that will allow you to ship accelerated appl
ications fast.\n\nAbout the tutor\n\nDr. Momme Allalen received his Ph.D.
in theoretical Physics from the University of Osnabrück in 2006. He worke
d in the field of molecular magnetics through modelling techniques such as
the exact numerical diagonalisation of the Heisenberg model. He joined th
e Leibniz Computing Centre (LRZ) in 2007 working in the High Performance C
omputing group. His tasks include user support\, optimisation and parallel
isation of scientific application codes\, and benchmarking for characteris
ing and evaluating the performance of high-end supercomputers. Momme is an
NVIDIA DLI certified instructor for Fundamentals of Accelerated Computing
with CUDA C/C++. His research interests are various aspects of parallel c
omputing and new programming languages and paradigms on novel HPC architec
tures.\n\nNVIDIA Deep Learning Institute\n\nThe NVIDIA Deep Learning Insti
tute delivers hands-on training for developers\, data scientists\, and eng
ineers. The program is designed to help you get started with training\, op
timizing\, and deploying neural networks to solve real-world problems acro
ss diverse industries such as self-driving cars\, healthcare\, online serv
ices\, and robotics.\n\nAcknowledgement\n\nThis event was partially suppor
ted by The Ministry of Education\, Youth and Sports from the Large Infrast
ructures for Research\, Experimental Development and Innovations project "
