  an overview of the field of genomics and how to use the Galaxy platform f
 or genome analysis\, with the main focus on the assembly and annotation of
  bacterial genomes. Galaxy is a web-based platform that allows users to pe
 rform complex bioinformatics tasks without coding. By the end of this cour
 se\, you will be able to:\n\n• Understand the basic concepts and termino
 logy of genomics and bioinformatics\n• Use Galaxy to access and analyze 
 genomic data from various sources\n• Apply state-of-the-art bioinformati
 cs tools to perform common genomic tasks such as sequence alignment\, vari
 ant calling\, and functional annotation\n• Explore the genomics workflow
  from data acquisition to interpretation and visualization\n• Evaluate t
 he possibilities and limitations of genome analysis and Galaxy\n\nThe cour
 se will consist of lectures and hands-on sessions\, where you will have th
 e opportunity to practice using Galaxy and the bioinformatics tools on rea
 l-world datasets. The course is designed for PhD students\, postdoctoral f
 ellows or other scientists who have a solid background in bioinformatics a
 nd molecular biology and want to learn more about genomics and Galaxy.\n\n
