DESCRIPTION:##Join us for the kick-off meeting of GLIM\n**Registration is f
ree\, but mandatory.**\n\nBe part of the launch of the GLIM-BioData Projec
t: Gateway for Living Data Management\, an innovative initiative spearhead
ed by BioData.pt and ELIXIR-PT. This project arises from the critical need
to manage\, curate\, and share life and health data more effectively in P
ortugal\, while aligning with European standards for Open Science and FAIR
data principles. GLIM builds on BioData.pt's extensive expertise as a lea
ding infrastructure in biological and health data management.\n\n## About
the Project\nThe GLIM-BioData Project is designed to address key challenge
s in research data management by:\n\n* Promoting the sharing and reuse of
sensitive and non-sensitive life and health data through the development o
f best practices and innovative curation methods.\n* Enhancing Portugal’
s participation in European data infrastructures\, such as the European Ge
nome-phenome Archive (EGA) and the 1+ Million Genomes Initiative.\n* Provi
ding state-of-the-art training programs to equip researchers and data stew
ards with the skills needed to implement Open Science practices.\n* Establ
ishing a sustainable data ecosystem to foster collaboration and maximize t
he societal impact of research outcomes.\n\n## Event Highlights\n* Opening
Remarks: Kick off the day with greetings from BioData.pt and ELIXIR-PT le
adership.\n* Project Vision &amp\; Work Plan: Learn about the project's or
igin\, goals\, and roadmap from Inês Chaves\, the project coordinator.\n*
Breakout Sessions: Engage in focused discussions on the project’s core
work packages:\n * WP2: Management of Non-sensitive Life Data for Sharing
and Reuse.\n * WP3: Handling Sensitive Life and Health Data in complianc
e with legal and ethical standards.\n * WP4: Training and Capacity Buildi
ng for researchers and data stewards.\n * WP5: Ensuring Sustainability an
d Long-term Impact.\n* Collaborative Insights: Teams will present their pl
ans and foster dialogue on aligning research efforts across disciplines.\n
\n## Why Attend?\nThis meeting provides a unique opportunity to:\n* Unders
tand how GLIM-BioData aims to revolutionise data management in life and he
alth sciences.\n* Explore how the project supports national and European r
esearch ecosystems\, promoting interoperability and collaboration.\n* Netw
ork with leading researchers\, data stewards\, and policymakers who are sh
aping the future of data-driven science in Portugal.\n\n ![FCCN | FCT | PR
