DESCRIPTION:ARCHER\, the UK's national supercomputing service\, offers trai
 ning in software development and high-performance computing to scientists 
 and researchers across the UK. As part of our training service\, and in co
 njunction with the easc2015 Exascale Applications and Software Conference
 \, we will be running a 1 day ‘Hands-on Porting and Optimisation Worksho
 p’ training session.\n\nThis 1-day workshop is a hands-on session aimed 
 at:\n\nNew users to the ARCHER service\, looking to port their code to ARC
 HER and explore its performance prior to an application for ARCHER time.\n
 	Current users of the ARCHER service\, looking to improve aspects of their
  current codes performance e.g. scaling and/or IO.\nAttendees will be assi
 gned a technical advisor who will work closely with them throughout the da
 y to help with running on ARCHER\, using the tools and implementing improv
 ements.\n\nThe workshop is open to anyone interested in using ARCHER\, it 
 is not restricted to current users. If you are not familiar with the syste
 m\, we would encourage you to look at the on-line training material in adv

 rial/online/index.php\nto ensure you gain the maximum benefit from the day
 .  This material prepares you for the online ARCHER driving test which al
 lows you to access the system with your own account and a time allocation.
 \n\nAs part of registration you will need to provide the following informa
 tion:\n\nName of code\n	Current ARCHER user yes/no\n	What do you want to a
 chieve on the day (e.g. improved performance)?\nWe encourage applications 
 from small teams. Please register individually but note that you are part
