DESCRIPTION:Python is being increasingly used in high-performance computing
projects. It can be used either as a high-level interface to existing HPC
applications and libraries\, as embedded interpreter\, or directly.\n\nTh
is course combines lectures and hands-on session. We will show how Python
can be used on parallel architectures and how performance critical parts o
f the kernel can be optimized using various tools.\n\nDay 1: Using Python
productively for parallel computing\n\nInteractive parallel programming wi
 th IPython\n	High-performance NumPy and SciPy\n	Distributed-memory paralle
l programming with Python and MPI\nDay 2: Python in concert with other pro
 gramming languages and accelerators\n\nCython\n	f2py\n	PyCUDA\n	PyOpenCL\n
Numba\nThis course is aimed at scientists who wish to explore the product
ivity gains made possible by Python for HPC.\n\nPrerequisites: Experience
with Python and NumPy\n\nApplication \nRegistrations are only considered u
ntil 31 May 2016 due to available space\, the maximal number of participan
ts is limited. Applicants will be notified\, whether they are accepted for
  participitation.\n\nInstructors: Dr. Jan Meinke\, Dr. Olav Zimmermann\, J
SC\n\nContact \nFor any questions concerning the course please send an e-m
