DESCRIPTION:This course will focus on computational methods for analysing c
ellular images and extracting quantitative data from them. The aim of this
course is to familiarise the participants with computational image analys
is methodologies\, and to provide hands-on training in running quantitativ
e analysis pipelines.\n\nOn day 1 we will introduce principles of image pr
ocessing and analysis\, giving an overview of commonly used algorithms thr
ough a series of talks and practicals based on [Fiji](http://fiji.sc/)\, a
n extensible open source software package.\n\nOn day 2\, we will describe
the open [Icy platform](http://icy.bioimageanalysis.org/) developed at the
Institut Pasteur. Icy is a next-generation\, user-friendly software offer
ing powerful acquisition\, visualisation\, annotation and analysis algorit
hms for 5D bioimaging data\, together with unique automation/scripting cap
abilities (notably via its graphical programming interface) and tight inte
 gration with existing software (e.g. ImageJ\, Matlab\, Micro-Manager).\n\n
On day 3\, we will cover time series processing and cell tracking using [T
rackMate](http://imagej.net/TrackMate). In the afternoon\, we will present
the [Image Data Resource](https://idr.openmicroscopy.org/)\, an added-val
ue platform that combines data from multiple independent imaging experimen
ts and imaging modalities and integrates them into a single resource for r
eanalysis in a convenient\, scalable form.\n\nPlease note that if you are
not eligible for a University of Cambridge [Raven](http://www.ucs.cam.ac.u
k/docs/faq/raven/n5) account you will need to book or register your intere
 st by linking [here](http://bioinfotraining.bio.cam.ac.uk/booking-form/?ev
