DESCRIPTION:\n\nWith the rapidly growing demand for computing power new acc
 elerator based architectures have entered the world of high performance co
 mputing since around 5 years. Particularly GPGPUs have recently become ver
 y popular\, however programming GPGPUs using programming languages like CU
 DA or OpenCL is cumbersome and error-prone. Beyond an introduction to CUDA
  and OpenCL we will also discuss OpenACC\, which makes GPGPU programming m
 uch easier.\n\nRecently Intel developed their own Many Integrated Core (MI
 C) architecture which can be programmed using standard parallel programmin
 g techniques like OpenMP and MPI.\n\nSince 2014\, LRZ is running a new Int
 el Xeon Phi based system SuperMIC.  This workshop is especially recommend
 ed for users who want to port their applications to SuperMIC or other Xeon
  Phi based systems.\n\nThe course discusses various programming and optimi
 sation techniques for Intel Xeon Phi in comparison with GPGPU programming 
 techniques and includes several hands-on sessions on the on the new SuperM
 IC system at LRZ and on GPGPus . The course is developed in collaboration 
 with the Erlangen Regional Computing Centre (RRZE) within KONWIHR.\n\n \n
