DESCRIPTION: \n\nTurbulence and heat transfer applied to HPC-related civil
nuclear phenomena. \n\nIntroduction to Code_Saturne\n\nElectricity genera
tion is fundamentally a thermodynamic process. In a nuclear power plant\,
the prediction of fluid flow and heat transfer is of vital importance for
the plant performance and for safety compliance. This course will focus on
the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for the prediction of fluid
flow and heat transfer\, including turbulence modelling\, near wall model
ling and conjugate heat transfer.\n\nThe course will run for 2 days being
a mixture of lectures and tutorials for nuclear internal flows. The open-s
ource HPC software Code_Saturne will be used by the participants to run la
rge scale simulations using the UK national facility ARCHER.\n\nThis cours
e is organised by the University of Manchester\, University of Sheffield\,
EDF Energy and STFC Daresbury Laboratory\, and has the support of the UKF
 N SIG - Nuclear Thermal Hydraulics.\n\nTimetable\n\nWednesday 19th of June
