DESCRIPTION:This course is an introduction to deep learning\, the current m
 ost promising field of machine learning. We will illustrate the basic conc
 epts of machine learning and the new trends\, together with a discussion o
 n past unfruitful approaches. Our aim is to enable the student to get acqu
 ainted with and to take advantage of deep learning methodologies\, and hop
 efully to become able to design tasks to be run on cluster machines. The c
 ourse will also focus on practical sessions dedicated to the introduction 
 of the widely used TensorFlow framework.\n\nSkills:\n\nBy the end of the c
 ourse each student should be able to:\n\n\n	understand the key features of
  deep learning\n	understand some use cases\n	using basics of TensorFlow\n\
 n\nTarget Audience:\n\nResearchers and programmers interested in using dee
 p learning.\n\nPre-requisites:\n\nKnowledge of the basic fundamentals of m
 achine learning and python language is useful but not necessary.\n\nGrant:
 \nThe lunch for the three days will be offered to all the participants and
  some grants are available. The only requirement to be eligible is to be n
 ot funded by your institution to attend the course and to work or live in 
 an institute outside the Roma area. The grant  will be 300 euros for stud
 ents working and living outside Italy and 150 euros for students working a
 nd living in Italy (outside Roma). Some documentation will be required and
  the grant will be paid only after a certified presence of minimum 80% of 
 the lectures.\n\nFurther information about how to request the grant\, will
  be provided at the confirmation of the course: about 3 weeks before the s
