 el area.**\n\n\n\n# Overview\nThis full-day course has a practical focus\,
  where participants will learn how to use the Linux command line and inter
 act with the sciCORE cluster. All new users of sciCORE are strongly encour
 aged to follow this course.\n\n# Audience\nThis course is restricted to me
 mbers of the University of Basel and associated institutes who want to use
  the sciCORE cluster. It is designed for PhD students\, postdocs\, and gro
 up leaders without (or very little) experience with Linux and the use of h
 igh-performance infrastructures.\n\n# Learning objectives\nAt the end of t
 he course\, the participants are expected to:\n* Obtain basic knowledge of
  the Linux/UNIX environment\n* Obtain basic knowledge of high throughput a
 nd high performance computing\n* Learn how to use the sciCORE infrastructu
 re for scientific applications (including hands-on exercises)\n* Tips and 
 tricks for effective and efficient cluster usage (eg compute and storage u
 sage guidelines)\n* Discuss particular computing needs and requirements of
  course participants\n\n# Prerequisites\n\n##### Technical\n* Windows user
 s should install MobaXterm\, Linux and Mac users can use the Terminal appl
 ication.\n\n# Application\n\nThe course is free of charge\, but registrati
