 s a practical focus\, where participants will learn how to use the Linux c
 ommand line and interact with the sciCORE cluster. All new users of sciCOR
 E are strongly encouraged to follow this course.\n\n# Audience\nThis cours
 e is restricted to members of the University of Basel and associated insti
 tutes who want to use the sciCORE cluster. It is designed for PhD students
 \, postdocs\, and group leaders without (or very little) experience with L
 inux and the use of high-performance infrastructures.\n\n# Learning object
 ives\nAt the end of the course\, the participants are expected to:\n* Obta
 in basic knowledge of the Linux/UNIX environment\n* Obtain basic knowledge
  of high throughput and high performance computing\n* Learn how to use the
  sciCORE infrastructure for scientific applications (including hands-on ex
 ercises)\n* Tips and tricks for effective and efficient cluster usage (eg 
 compute and storage usage guidelines)\n* Discuss particular computing need
 s and requirements of course participants\n\n# Prerequisites\n\n##### Tech
 nical\n* Windows users should install MobaXterm\, Linux and Mac users can 
 use the Terminal application.\n\n# Application\n\nThe course is free of ch
