DESCRIPTION:The aim of this 2-hour\, online\, training event is to provide 
 participants with a first-hand description of the role of a medical writer
  and the different types of work a medical writer can be involved in. Afte
 r the training\, participants should have sufficient information to decide
  whether or not they would like to explore a career as a medical writer.\n
 \nRegulatory writing and medical communications will be put into context s
 eparately. Although there are common skills needed to write any scientific
  document\, employment opportunities tend to specialise in one area or the
  other. The types of document a medical writer is likely to prepare will b
 e described along with the sources of information and what needs to be don
 e to prepare and complete the document. Additional roles performed by the 
 medical writer will be described as well as the attributes of a good medic
 al writer. The course will conclude with suggestions on how to get started
  as a medical writer.
