DESCRIPTION:# Overview\n[Shiny](https://shiny.posit.co/) is an open-source
R package that allows building interactive web applications from R\, and w
ithout knowledge of web-development\, enabling data scientists to make the
ir data or analysis interactively explorable and accessible to colleagues\
 , end-users\, and/or for publication.\n\nIn this 1-day course\, we will in
troduce the R Shiny framework and equip R programmers with the basic tools
to build and deploy their own web apps.\n\n# Audience\nThis course is des
igned for PhD students\, postdoctoral and other researchers in the life sc
iences from both academia and industry who wish to develop an interactive
web application to communicate their data or analysis to other non-program
mers.\n\n# Learning outcomes\nAt the end of the course\, the participants
are expected to:\n* describe Shiny framework structure: server and user in
terface \n* create their own Shiny applications\n* edit existing Shiny app
lications available in the Gallery\n* use various built-in input widgets\
n* use R scripts and data embedded in Shiny web application\n* illustrate
reactive expressions\n* share Shiny applications and learn different deplo
 yment strategies\n\n\n# Prerequisites\n#### Knowledge / competencies\nThis
course is designed for advanced R programmers. Participants should have e
xperience in programming in R (knowledge of functions and loops in R)\, eq

  R in Life Sciences](https://www.sib.swiss/training/course/FSWRR)' and '[
 Data Visualisation with R](https://www.sib.swiss/training/course/DATVS)'.
**Before registering**\, test your R skills with the quiz [here](https://d
