DESCRIPTION:In this course\, we will guide you through the core technology\
, data analysis approaches\, tools\, and resources used in RNA sequencing
and transcriptomics. Our goal is to support you as you build a shared unde
rstanding of the field\, whether your background is in biology\, computer
science\, or data analysis. We shall introduce the fundamental concepts be
hind transcriptomic workflows and help you gain confidence with basic comm
and‑line analysis.\n\nTogether\, we'll explore key public data repositor
ies and outline the main methodologies that can help you begin the biologi
cal interpretation of gene expression data. Throughout the course\, a mix
of learning through lectures\, practical exercises\, and open discussions
will create an environment where you can engage with the material from you
r own disciplinary perspective.\n\nAll computational work will use small e
xample data sets so that you can focus on learning the concepts and workfl
ows. Please note that there will be no opportunity to analyse personal dat
a during the course.\n\n**Virtual course** \nYou will learn via a mix of
 pre-recorded lectures\, live presentations\, and trainer Q&amp\;A sessions
. Practical experience will be developed through group activities and trai
ner-led computational exercises. Live sessions will be delivered using Zoo
m with additional support and asynchronous communication via Slack.\n\n'In
troduction to RNA-seq and functional interpretation 2027' is currently in
development. Sign up for alerts to hear as this course develops.
