DESCRIPTION:The EMBL-EBI provides free access to a wide range of core bioin
 formatics sequence analysis applications via the web and via programmatic 
 access.\n\nThis course is split into two main sessions running over two da
 ys. The first session focuses on learning about the bioinformatics applica
 tions provided and how to use them in conjunction with a range of biologic
 al databases. There will be a focus on sequence alignment (e.g. Clustal Om
 ega and MAFFT) and sequence similarity search (NCBI BLAST+ and FASTA) tool
 s.\n\nThe second session focuses on alternative approaches to accessing th
 e tools beyond the website. We will explore the Tools APIs and various exa
 mples of how the tools can be accessed on the command-line and integrated 
 into workflows.
