DESCRIPTION:Description\n\nThe European Genome-phenome Archive (EGA) has be
 en archiving\, managing and distributing biomolecular human data in a secu
 re manner for over ten years. Both data and associated information (metada
 ta) for all the projects are currently centrally stored. In order to accom
 modate institutional or national restrictions when it comes to data transf
 erence\, and taking advantage of all the experience and development harves
 ted during the last decade\, the EGA is leading a “Local EGA” project 
 within the ELIXIR framework. This federated network of Local EGAs will all
 ow to keep the biological samples in the desired location\, which is also 
 expect to dramatically speed up the data transference.\n\nWhile Local EGA 
 initiative started months ago with the collaboration of several ELIXIR nod
 es (current status can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8t
 IDZvDGKQ)\, both the maturity and the number of interested parties have in
 creased. This Face to Face meeting\, held at the Barcelona Biomedical Rese
 arch Park (PRBB)\, aims to generate the appropriate discussion and agree t
 he following steps. The focus of this meeting is managerial (rather than d
 evelopmental). Therefore all interested ELIXIR nodes are warmly invited to
  take part in the discussion and join the project. It is expected that dep
 ending on the feedback\, events focused on development and technical aspec
