DESCRIPTION:The goal of metabolomics is to identify and quantify the comple
te biochemical composition of a biological sample. With the increase in g
enomic\, transcriptomic and proteomic information there is a growing need
to understand the metabolic phenotype that these genes and proteins ultima
tely control. \n\nThe aim of this course is to provide an introductory ov
erview of metabolomics and its applications in life sciences and environme
ntal settings. We will introduce different techniques used to extract meta
bolites and analyse samples to collect metabolomic data (such as HPLC or G
C-based MS and NMR)\, present how to analyse such data\, how to identify m
etabolites using online databases and how to map the metabolomic data to m
etabolic pathways.\n\n\nIf you do not have a University of Cambridge [Rave
n account](https://legacy.raven.cam.ac.uk/auth/account/) please book or re
 gister your interest [here](http://bioinfotraining.bio.cam.ac.uk/booking-f

on the first floor and there is currently no wheelchair or level access.\
n* Our courses are only free for registered University of Cambridge studen
ts. All other participants will be charged according to our [charging pol
 icy](http://www.training.cam.ac.uk/bioinformatics/info/charging).\n* Atten
dance will be taken on all courses and a charge is applied for non-attenda
nce. After you have booked a place\, if you are unable to attend any of th
e live sessions\, please email the [Bioinfo Team](https://training.csx.cam
