 s:\nThe course gives an introduction into the field of microscopy image an
 alysis for cell biology and the use of software tools for automated proces
 sing of image data. Basic methods for computer-based analysis of microscop
 y images are introduced such as image preprocessing\, segmentation\, featu
 re extraction\, classification\, and colocalization. Concepts of software 
 platforms and workflow systems for automating image analysis pipelines wit
 h focus on ImageJ and Galaxy and their use for analyzing cell microscopy i
 mage data are also taught. The course consists of lectures and practical s
 essions. Participants should bring their laptops for the practical session
 s. The target group are researchers with a background in biology or medici
 ne that need to analyze their data and have little or no experience in aut
 omated image analysis.\n\nLearning goals:\n- Introduction into cell micros

 s of image data\n\nPrerequisites:\nBasic knowledge in using software tools
