DESCRIPTION:With the proliferation of Next Generation Sequencing\, data set
s for the study of phylogenetic relationships are getting increasingly lar
ger\, and data sets of genome-wide markers from a multitude of taxa are no
w readily attainable to address questions around the evolution\, biogeogra
phy and accurate delineation of biodiversity. The tools used to conduct ty
pical phylogenetic analyses have advanced to accommodate these larger data
sets\, opposed to studies of single genes or a few data partitions or seq
uence alignments that were common a decade ago. In this workshop\, we will
use several example data sets and work through quality control of the dat
a\, prepare genome-wide SNP data for phylogenetic analysis\, construct and
evaluate phylogenetic trees\, date phylogenies\, and examine gene tree an
d species tree conflicts in delimiting species.\n\nPlaces are restricted
to UK-based researchers and only 30 places are available so please only re
gister if you intend on attending.\n\nThe workshop will be held over two d
ays on Tuesday 20th and Thursday 22nd February 2024\, 10am-4pm\, with regi
stration opening 9.30am on Tuesday.\n\nThe deadline to register is Monday
5th February\, 2 weeks before the course. You will hear later that week wh
ether you have been invited and will need to confirm your attendance.\n\nR
