 2022\n\nDescription\n\nSince its theorization\, now more than 40 years ago
 \, quantum computing has immediately shown that it has enormous potential 
 as a method of computation. It has been realized that\, by exploiting the 
 basic principles of quantum mechanics\, it is possible to carry out normal
 ly very long and complex calculations in a relatively short time. These st
 atements\, initially only demonstrated with pen and paper\, today are slow
 ly beginning to find space to be demonstrated in reality\, since finally t
 he first models\, albeit still with many problems\, of quantum computers a
 re starting to appear on the market. In this course we will see how quantu
 m computing is able to practically perform calculations and\, above all\, 
 we will focus on its very close relationship with the world of HPC\, since
  it is a common belief of the scientific community that one of the first a
 pplications of current quantum computers will be precisely that of being a
 n accelerator for high-performance computations\, a bit like GPUs do today
 .\n\nSkills:\n\nIn this course you will understand what quantum computing 
 is and what it means to use a quantum computer as an accelerator for HPC c
 omputing. You will learn the difference between a General Purpose quantum 
 computer and a Special Purpose computer\, as well as the difference betwee
 n NISQ quantum computers and universal quantum computers\n\n\nTarget Audie
 nce:\n\nHPC developers\, PhD Students\, Researchers\n\n\nPrerequisites:\n\
 nPython programming\, Linear Algebra\n\nInvited speakers:\n\nData Reply\, 
 LINKS and University of Padua\n\n \n\n \n\nThe school is free of charge 
 and will be held as ONLINE EVENT. \n\nThe number of participants is limit
