DESCRIPTION:With the upcoming LUMI supercomputer (https://www.lumi-supercom
 puter.eu/) arriving this year in Finland\, as well as the Dardel supercomp
 uter (https://www.pdc.kth.se/hpc-services/computing-systems/dardel) arrivi
 ng this and next year to PDC in Stockholm\, ENCCS and CSC are providing a 
 series of training events for future users of these new systems.\n\nThe ma
 in partitions of both LUMI and Dardel will be based on AMD GPUs – users 
 should thus be ready to port their applications to this new architecture. 
 This training event will be about porting CUDA applications to HIP. It 
 will provide an extensive dive into the Hipify tools and showcase many exa
 mples.\n\nCSC’s Puhti system with Nvidia GPUs will be used for the hands
 -on part of the training and we will work on a number of different example
 s in hands-on sessions. This event is open to people affiliated with Swedi
 sh universities and industries who want to start using Dardel and LUMI and
  who have codes that need to be ported to the AMD architecture. Training a
 ccounts will be provided for accessing Puhti supercomputer\nThe deadline f
 or the registration is April 9th.\n\nLearning Outcome\n\nAfter this course
  the participants will know how to use the AMD Hipify tools to convert CUD
 A codes to HIP. They will be familiar with the AMD architecture\, issues t
 hat could arise from the code conversion and the differences between CUDA 
 and HIP.\n\nPrerequisites\n\nIn order to take the course\, the participant
  should be familiar with GPU concepts and CUDA. Any experience with GPUs i
 s welcome. Examples and exercises will be available in different programmi
