DESCRIPTION:The Message Passing Interface (MPI) is the de facto standard fo
r distributed memory parallelism in high performance computing (HPC). MPI
is the dominant programming model for modern day supercomputers and will c
ontinue to be critical in enabling researchers to scale up their HPC workl
oads to forthcoming pre-exascale and exascale systems within EuroHPC and e
lsewhere.\n\nThis workshop targets programmers in both academia and indust
ry who already have experience with basic MPI and are ready to take the ne
xt step to more advanced usage. Topics which will be covered include commu
 nicators\, groups\, derived data types\, one-sided communication\, non-blo
cking collectives and hybrid MPI+threading approaches. Lectures will be in
terleaved with hands-on exercises. All exercises will be written in C\, bu
t the instructors will be able to answer questions about MPI in Fortran an
d Python.\n\nPre-requisites\n\n\n	Familiarity with MPI in C/C++\, Fortran
or Python\, either from introductory courses or workshops (e.g. PDC’s I
ntroduction to MPI or the SNIC course Introduction to parallel programmi
ng using message passing with MPI) or through self-taught usage.\n	Familia
rity with C/C++\n	Basic Linux command line skills\n	Existing access to a S
NIC cluster or own computer with MPI and compilers installed.\n\n\nRegistr
