DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\nRecent developments in quantum technology are bring
ing the world closer to a new technological revolution - the advent of usa
ble quantum computers able to provide enormous acceleration to important c
omputational tasks. In coming years\, quantum computing is expected to
have a huge impact on practically all areas of research that can utilise c
omputational modelling.\n\nStarting operations in April this year\, the No
rdiQuEst project brings together a consortium of seven partners from five
Nordic and Baltic countries to connect world-leading traditional HPC resou
rces and quantum computers across national borders with the aim to establi
sh a quantum computing platform customised to the needs of the region.\n\n
ENCCS is now joining forces with NordiQuEst to deliver a two-day training
workshop covering the fundamentals of quantum computing (QC)\, including:\
n\n\n	Introduction to key concepts: quantum states\, qubits\, quantum algo
rithms\n	QC programming in high-level languages for use cases in optimisat
ion\, finance and quantum chemistry followed by testing quantum programs t
o esure their correctness\n	Overview of the main QC hardware approaches\n
Integration of QC with classical computing: hybrid classical/quantum algor
 ithms and HPC-QC systems.\n\n\nOutcomes\n\n\n	Create\, deploy\, and update
containers locally on a supercomputer\n	Upscale the transfer learning of
an NLP model in TensorFlow\n	Upscale the transfer learning of an NLP model
using Horovod\n	Upscale the transfer learning of a containerized NLP mode
l\n\n\nMorning lectures are combined with afternoon hands-on sessions wher
e participants learn to use high-level QC programming languages using simu
lators as well as real QC hardware.\n\nPrerequisites\n\nFor the hands-on t
raining sessions\, basic familiarity with Python and some experience worki
ng in a Unix environment are desirable. No previous experience with quantu
m computers expected.\n\nAgenda \n\nFor updated agenda please visit http
 s://enccs.se/events/2022-06-quantum-computing/ \n\nFor questions regardin
g this event please contact us at training@enccs.se.\n\n\nThis training i
s intended for users established in the European Union or a country associ
ated with Horizon 2020. You can read more about the countries associated
