DESCRIPTION:All the PATC courses at BSC are free of charge. Please\, bring
 your own laptop. \n\nCourse convener: \n\nMariano Vázquez\, Established r
 esearcher\, BSC-CASE\, Physical and Numerical Modelling Group\n\nLecturers
:\n\nMarco Verdicchio &amp\; Benjamin Czaja - “First steps in the HPC
environment”. \n\nAlexander Heifetz (Evotec) - “Introduction to Comput
 er-Aided Drug Design (CADD)”\n\nAndrea Townsend-Nicholson (UCL) -  “M
 olecular Medicine”\n\nDavid Oks(BSC) &amp\; Cristobal Samaniego(BSC)  -
“Fluid-Structure Interaction methods for biomechanics”\n\nGabor  Zav
odszky (UvA) - “Zoom in on blood - Using supercomputers for blood flow s
 imulations”\n\nMiroslav Kratochvil (BSC\, PerMedCoE) - “A brief introd
uction to large-scale constraint based metabolic modeling and analysis”\
n\nArnau Montagud (BSC\, PerMedCoE) - “The use of multiscale modelling t
 o build a virtual patient from the cell-level up” \n\n \n\nObjectives:
The objetive of this course is to give a panorama on the use of hpc-based
computational mechanics in Biomedical Sciences. The training is delivered
in collaboration with the centers of excellence CompBioMed2 and PerMedCoE
.\n \n\nLearning Outcomes:  The course gives a wide perspective and the
latest trends of how HPC helps in biomedical applications allowing to achi
eve more realistic multiphysics simulations. In addition\, the student has
the opportunity of running Jobs in Marenostrum supercomputer.\n\nLevel:
All courses are designed for MSc and PhD students in STEM or Medical scie
 nces. \nhttps://events.prace-ri.eu/event/1317/
